december in photos

we got hit with a bug in late november and it even sent d into the hospital toward mid december. long story. weird stuff. still not sure exactly what it was. but we missed our friend christmas party for the first time in like 9 or 10 years. it was sad. but i got almost all my presents wrapped. as for d, he spent a good chunk of december laying on the couch and in our bed and feeling like crap. only to be rushed to the er due to some severe stomach stuff! then we were told he was going to have surgery most likely to have a gallstone removed although odd since he had no other stones. his pancreas numbers were extremely high. then they did another ultrasound and it looked better so they kept him overnight just in case and his numbers were normal in the morning so back to home and finally after about 3 weeks he felt a ton better. total abbreviated synopsis of it but we barely survived decemeber this year or at least not nearly like we typically enjoy it! and my kids all threw up at least twice minus sage. weirdest ever. plus i hate hate babies when they are sick. they are snuggly but so lethargic. and throw up in the car seat is the absolute WORST! right at pickup of course. again my neighbors and friends literally save my life sometimes!

we did however complete a few of the things on our advent bags - went with paper bags this year! game changer!

we wrote santa and he wrote us back!

got some fun matching jammies - although i won't ever order cheap ones again. took more than a month to arrive straight from china and laz's were super wonky. our elf chili came again!

we baked a few treats for us and our neighbors. went with sweet breads this year! thanks to my sis we whipped these up!

and one night when d felt ok we actually went out and got some coffee/hot cocoa and toured the lights around town! 

we didn't get to see santa or do some of our other favorites but we did have the occasional indoor snow ball fight, a few snow play daysm, hot cocoa and watching lots of christmas movies! 

ells had a big solo with a few other kiddos at her christmas concert! my favorite of all their programs! 

ells and i went with a few friends to watch one of her friends/neighbor perform in the nutcracker! it was so good and so fun! we might need to make it an annual outing! 

don't ever wanna forget the year of the double lip 😂😂

these two kept me busy! 

 we got to celebrate christmas with my mom's family and see my grandma! then papa and frama took the big 8 to a movie! quite the crew there!

found a some new stockings this year! and had fun decorating! each year i think i will be intentional about taking better photos of our decor but i don't. i actually didn't even get a clutter free picture of the tree. geez!
