Sage is allergic to tree nuts

My mother in law was watching the kiddos when Sage tried a cashew (we thought he had eaten and i pretty sure he had a lot of different tree nuts at one time or another). Well this one didn't go over so hot.

This picture is about 30 minutes afterward too.  I can only imagine what he looked like prior.

So we scheduled some testing and sure enough he is allergic to 6 out of 8 tree nuts. Really low thankfully so they are hopeful he will outgrow. He was an awesome patient at the appt.

Until then I will carry an epipen and be reading nutrition labels!

the calm before the storm - whats been going on in may

shadd had a field trip to the brenton arboretum - not sure it is highly recommended for a 36 wk prego lady as i was wiped later that day. but it is always fun to see them in that atmosphere amongst their peers.

our kids go to special kids music each sunday - and one sunday in may they performed at church. it was super fun to watch. sage didn't smile once during the first service but kinda came around for second service.

we celebrated d's 35th birthday with our parents and kiddos and a softball game and soccer game! made a strawberry pie that actually set up great and of course the kids requested an ice cream cake. go big or go home i guess!

ells got to spend a couple days home with us during kindergarten screening. she is quite the teacher.  she is the one responsible for teaching sage to write his s the correct way and almost all his numbers - again the blessing of a big sister, chalk and a large driveway!

enjoying my days especially nap times as this one naps rarely anymore. but he loves a good game! although he doesn't lose real well.

this one keeps me on my toes. always scars on his face, love for his mama and getting into mischief. he has started talking more and more and seems to be voicing his opinion a little bit more too!

some yummy watermelon

and sad but true but my days with just these two are slowly coming to an end. they fight like crazy but also play and enjoy each other! nothing better than a brother!

and other than that - we are waiting on grass, spending a lot of time outside, growing a gigantic belly and enjoying the few days/weeks we have left as a family of 6.

Spring Sports

ells played softball (tee ball) this year and enjoyed it!
she learned a lot and had fun! she will definitely is starting to enjoy sports which is fun to see too

shadd chose soccer this year and didn't seem to miss baseball (thankfully). He has really improved from his first season and is a ton of fun to watch. since he had a cast he missed about half the season but still can't wait for this fall.

Ells turns 6

We moved on Ells birthday weekend so lets just say its was chaos. We celebrated later in the day with some friends eating cupcakes, roasting dogs and having our first set of smokes on our new fire pit.

Ells requested a desk for her room! She is a crafter and drawer and writer that girl so it was perfect and fitting. Craigslist find with a little paint on a sunday afternoon and it was transformed.

And then i scored this cute little chair and some new knobs and well it needs some artwork hung in and around it and it will be a perfect little space!

So what's new with Ells....
she is almost done with kindergarten - she has done really well
she loves to write books, draw pictures and make cards
she likes to sew with me
she is a great helper
she is really anxious to see if this baby is a boy or a girl. she is pulling for a girl and whispers her encouragement to my belly!
she loves to read and likes to play games  (lately volleyball in the driveway)
she loves sports (i think basketball is her current favorite)
Still can't believe that little chubby baby has turned 6.

Happy Birthday sweet girl!
