Shadd had his 1st grade concert

They sang some fun songs

he's waving to us!

And he got to play the shakers for the song, "bare necessities"

So much to watch him and his classmates sing! There class is too big so this was half! The other hall sang the following hour!

Valentines Day

we love valentines day - just a fun holiday to celebrate the people in our lives.

this year we made valentines and each kid picked something to add to the fun. sage glow sticks. shadd laffy taffys and jokes and ells colored all her valentines for all her classmates and cousins and added her favorites starbursts or skittles.

Ells got to make a fun valentines box too.

we got the kiddos summer shoes this year for something a little different. flip flops and crocs. thankfully it has been nice enough for sage to sport his crocs with socks (which i would have died if I ever saw someone else let their kid do this) most days if there isn't snow on the ground.

and the grandmas spoiled them and their classmates/friends and cousins! what a fun holiday!

Z is 18mo

Someone asked me the other day how old Z was...I paused to think as I almost answered 1. But he really isn't just 1. He is 18months. What? How is that even possible?

Well it should be evident.

He loves my phone - he can dj up music, play videos, review photos, call people, FaceTime. You name it he has got the swipe of the iPhone down.

That being said he hates the word, "no" or when I take away any said device. In fact, most of the time he just sneaks off with something and finds a spot behind a chair or couch to play in peace and quiet. The iPad or my phone can't just lay on the counter. Nope. Gotta be up and put in a cupboard.
So now you know why i may not respond very quickly somedays.

He's good on the iPad too. Even mastering some games already. Like kinda knows what to do on Temple Run. I mean What, I'm even terrible at that!
Even experimenting with the photo affections

Then there are the phrases he has started.
Last night, he said "one more" just like Shadd used to do when requesting multiple multiple valentine treats.
He loves the book, Freight Train. And he finishes the book with "gone".
He loves all the animals sounds and loves for you to make funny sounds or faces when reading any of his favorites.
He has just started to say the kids names which is fun too. And baby, looking under my shirt?

He's not a huge talker but partly because its not that quiet around here either. I'd probably be shocked if it were just him and I one day.

He is funny.
All my kids say, "we have the funniest babies"

He likes to eat up at the table - not just slid up in his chair. Nope up standing and stealing food off anyone else's plate other than his own.

He loves to brush his teeth - sometimes i'll just find him in there.

He battles me on a lot of things. I'm probably a lot more go with the flow and don't quite get as upset as I did with Shadd about things like throwing his food or throwing himself on the floor when he doesn't get his way. I think you just kinda learn they grow out of these things and they don't last forever.

He stayed up late and partied with me one night and watched the isu game since dad was at the game - he cracked me up sitting and clapping and cheering along! He's quite the ham sometimes!

He still falls asleep sometimes in the car - and doesn't transfer at all anymore. big bummer!
Still a great night time and nap sleeper though!

And he spends a lot of time with his big bro - fighting and playing
\

Still can't believe you are already 18 months and gonna be a big brother - there were moments we thought you were the last and would be the youngest but here comes a new one to kick you out of your solo room probably and your crib! Hold on to that sweet lovable spirt little guy!
