Thankful Thursday: Sager Edition

well today is sager's official second birthday. while i will try my best to get a letter written to him soon via blog land i just can't commit my brain to it tonight. long day with extra kiddos and still trying to catch up from being gone a week plus try and get ready for a birthday party on saturday. ugh. why oh why do we squeeze so much in. and isu plays again tomorrow night. oh dear!

oh well...

so my thankfuls - with most of the centered on Sage man

1. he is healthy and strong
2. he is a baby lover - good thing as he can snuggle up this new little one (oh yeah big announcement I will try and squeeze in this week too - we found out what we are having this time. d won.)
3. he is our silly one always wearing crazy outfits, headbands, jewelry, heels, hats, you name it. he is the crazy one who makes us all laugh
4. he is the best tisser - loves to give his momma snuggles and tisses
5. he hates to be in trouble and just sits with his hands covering his eyes in timeout
6. he has the sweetest dimples - just like his daddy
7. he melts my heart (maybe because he looks and acts so much like his daddy)
8. he loves his brother and sister - adores them and wants to be just like them

Overall I'm just thankful I get to be his mommy. He is officially two so we are entering the world of tantrums and pouting but in between I get to snuggle him up, give him tisses, and hold him close because soon he will be too big to let me do any of those things.

Happy Birthday Sage

2 years old

I can't even believe it.

Ells and Shaddy blew up balloons to fill your bed this morning after you woke up. They were super pumped to do it and even woke mommy and daddy up way too early.

Then daddy made you yummy pancakes and we sang happy birthday and of course taught you to say that you are "two". You hold up two one fingers on both hands which is funny.

We watched B and Q today and it rained like crazy. You played and dressed up crazy.

We opened one gift tonite and your siblings are getting you gifts tomorrow (whoops - kinda forgot to get them early).  You loved the puppets now if only mommy had gotten your theatre sewn for you. soon. soon I promise.

Then daddy made blizzards and you had your favorite - ice cream!

Happy Birthday big boy!

when its all quiet

the other day it was way too quiet...

and found them in the downstairs bedroom watching Despicable Me 2

i guess thats pure independence and having a 5 year old who can run the tv for ya, right?

A wet getaway

thanks to the prompting of friends...we decided to sneak away.

we thought it would be fun if my parents tagged along and thankfully no baby yet for my sis at the time so they could.

we splashed, ate, splashed and ate.

it was quick but a ton of fun.

even sage got to go down the slides  - he just kept saying "slide", "fun"

the water felt so good. too bad the lake was frozen. we might have to venture up again this summer so we can enjoy the outdoor water park as well.

Thankful Wednesday (a day early)

its been way too long again.

this weather has me down with a cold but i feel like i'm on the up side at least no sinus headache without any tylenol thats a plus

however i have the itch for spring and spring projects. i think i could craft a day or three away with the projects swirling around in my head. yet i just sit as its too cold to spray paint, too cold to paint (although I thought about painting ells dresser in her bedroom this morning - d would have killed me) and too cold and too many kiddos to run to hobby lobby at least and keep my sanity.

till then we just have to embrace today and what we are able to accomplish

gratitude definitely is an attitude. a way of looking at life half full rather than half empty. all to easily especially cooped up inside we slip into the winter doldrums and ungratefulness.

i heard a lady on the radio yesterday said we should be thankful we get to wear more accesseries in the cold rather than the hot temps. true that. i know each september i crave jeans again and hooded sweatshirts. right now i will wear my new flats and starve for spring when the snow sneaks onto my bare feet and still praise you Lord for all things!

1. my new nephew Kase (he's adorable)
2. quick delivery for kels
3. shadd's itch to go golfing - he is sporting an isu polo today in hopes it will soon be time
4. quiet afternoons spent with my oldest
5. my elliptical
6. how 30 degrees feels like 60 lately
7. tylenol
8. my hubs - really carrying the load the last couple of days morning and night
9. silly and cute childrens books - the day the crayons quit
10. a good check-up for the baby (a few weeks ago i guess)
11. technology that keeps us up to date with our friends so far away
12. a quick getaway
