Oh Sager: 18months

Oh Sage...The boy just cracks me up. He loves just about everything. But he will let you know if he doesn't. Some would say he is opinionated. He just loves to let you know exactly how he feels.

He's been known to sneak snacks. Like the whole bag of cheetos?

He loves attention and hams it up for a crowd. He likes the security of mom or dad with a look out to see if anyone is watching.
He keeps us on our toes. Always covered in scratches, bumps and bruises.

He doesn't like to be too far from any of his star blankets.

He loves to watch Curious George and be like the bigs kids.

He always makes us laugh. Just the other night he jumped in the bathtub fully clothed as I went to get some towels. He had no qualms about it either. He could have cared less if I got him undressed or not.

He's definitely more of a dare devil. Loves a challenge. Been known to be more than halfway up a climbing ladder at the park before I notice. Oh the third.

Still snuggles with momma everyone once in a while.

Loved the orchard and getting dirty. If there is mud, water, sand - this boy will find it.

Likes to keep up with the bigs. Walk, walk I hear him screaming from the stroller.
And still melts my heart. Something tells me its that he looks so much like his daddy. Love you sweet boy. Can't believe you are 18 months old already.

Thankful Thursday

I can't imagine what my life will look like next fall. One in kindergarten, what? Maybe then I will actually know what day of the week it is prior to us doing school and writing it down for the day. I'm organized in a very hap hazard sort of way. Never good at keeping a calendar even though I buy a day planner because I love cute notebooks and paper. Sort of a fetish. And right now I think I'm so so disorganized I don't even know where to begin. Well my goal is to get going. I'm going to attempt to organize one space in my house a week and then make a list of what I need to complete that room. Who knows if I will stick with it. I doubt it but I secretly hope so. So keep me accountable if you want and I will do my best to keep checking in with some completed projects.

I know I missed this last thursday and I miss them.

1. a huge huge turnout for our church picnic - more people there than I have ever seen before.
2. 19 baptisms - God is doing huge things in our church
3. instant playmates when we step outside
4. wednesday night volleyball
5. our new van - the kids are super excited about automatic doors and the fact their windows roll down. oh the little things
6. beautiful sunrise
7. my talks with shadd about heaven
8. hearing my little ones speak God's word
9. the boldness of Shadd's faith and innocence of his heart
10. teachable moments for me and my kiddos
11. playdates with my bestest friends
12. quiet afternoons
13. darker, cooler mornings
14. the bike trail
15. sage's silly carefree antics - more to come later - that boy deserves a week worth of posts for all the trouble he gets into.
16. the changing leaves
17. electricity - we were without it for 36 hours and it is vital to just about everything we do.
18. game time with the kids
19. Ells going number 2 on the potty - this is an excited momma
20. our trip to the apple orchard

Just a few projects

I rarely post these - not that I don't want to but I just never seem to have the time too.
So just a few projects I have been working on. Or we.

Add caption
Frame for the entry way. Slowly transforming. Was an ugly gold. Got at garage sale for $2. Quick paint, our exterior trim color. with dry brush and a cute printable. Love it as I have been doing the 1000 gifts devotional.

And then just a quick afternoon project during naptime with D on monday. Gotta love holidays. Its like an extra Saturday which we rarely have a free one so score.

Old door - I got two at a garage sale for $5 for both. Then I sold one at my sale to a neighbor for $5. So mine was free. Yeah. Plus a couple spare 2x4s lying around and some leftover paint equals one headboard for the guest room.

Its a start but in definite need some pillows.

My first ever light. Easiest thing ever. Definitely going to make some more of these someday. $1 candle stick garage sale again. Light kit (menards $4) and handy husband with long drill bit ($11) and cute shade from Target ($8). Hoping to convert huge jar someday soon.

And then I had a painting day. My mom took my kiddos for the day and I painted. A table (blue - below, dresser (white), pew (dark gray).

And then theres Ells room. I could have at least made the bed uh? Oh well this is how it looks most days. Some scrap fabric bunting which I may make for the playroom as it is just so fun and really easy. And her pallet. Finally used those big ole things out of the garage. It says "its a good morning" a line from a Mandisa song the we both love.

I am sure there are a few others roaming around here but I'm not great at taking pictures of things along the way. Hoping to knock out some shelves about the toliet in the bathroom soon as well as finish the laundry room.

August Wrap Up

I started uploading pictures off my phone...where did August go?

I mean I have a ton of photos to get caught up on the blog. Not sure what I've been doing lately. Life and enjoying it.

Not really sure where to start so....

Shadd got to spend the night with his cousin A and then we met up at the zoo.

We went to the fair. Came out tattooed, supporting almost every nearby college (except U of I) and of couse sick to our stomachs. We brought pb&jelly for the kiddos and we shared a TLB (tenderloin basket) and then we bought a bucket of cookies (holy cow yummy but way too many) and of course some yummy donuts.

We even splurged and the kids and I went for a ride on the giant wheel. No pictures of that because D felt a little queasy just looking up to wave at us.

We enjoyed little hands on the farm and survived our few hours of touring the grounds and seeing all the animals.

We also hit up the pool a few more times.

Plus got to help Cousin A celebrate his 6th birthday!

And daddy got a new ride - all three car seats fit in the backseat. Right now super convienent as the van  died in the middle of an intersection (like the busiest 4 way stop in town). Yep. Embarassing and thankful that two nice gentleman pushed me out of the way. It was the hottest day of the summer and my sis and her little one were with us so we walked to the library where she stayed with the kiddos while I walked about 1.5 miles home to get her car to break the law and quickly drive home sans car seats. Too much fun for a friday morning.

I have millions more pictures but this is at least a start to get me back into the bloggin/journaling swing of things, right?
