Sage is 3

Its official. Sage is 3. (this post has been on the docket for like two weeks now and since Ells birthday is tomorrow well it needed to be finished - sorry buddy)

And boy did we celebrate - well at least food wise.

Daddy bought us donuts for breakfast and a cookie cake for later. Oh my. He opened presents in the morning with all of us. He got a new bike, helmet, bouncy balls, and a turtle shell. Ells and Shadd had fun shopping for him.

Then we celebrated with all our families - which seems to be just getting bigger and bigger - the next day. Of course it was another ninja turtle party.

He loved it and had a blast and why am I complaining - I had all the stuff and I went super low key and he loved it just the same. I don't know how these extravagant birthday party planners do it. I just don't seem to have the energy anymore.

We had some fun with the cousins and our shredder spray (aka silly string)

So what's new with 3.

Well attitude for one. This age is the both the best and the worst for me.

He definitiely has an opinion.

He loves to watch the "bad splinter" or the new teenage mutant ninja turtle movie or big hero 6 (and if you haven't seen it - it might be one of my favorites). And when I say loves to watch it. Like asks me multiple times each day. He would rather watch 15 minutes of that than a tv show.

He is Mr. Independent. Wanting little to no help with anything. He gets dressed my himself most of the time and usually can be found sporting an interesting combo of clothes and his shoes on the wrong feet.

He loves accessories. Like sunglasses, hats, etc.

He thinks he is 6 at least. He believes he can do everything and anything the big kids do at our house. And I'm afraid next year he will be all tears when Ells (his best buddy during the day) is at school.

His vocabulary is amazing. He picks up on literally everything. However he is still a bit slow when it comes to school stuff or at least is a bit too squirelly to care. He is getting those colors finally though.

We will hammer away this fall at letters and numbers and sounds etc.

He loves the magna tiles, puzzles, playing big games, and dancing to music (his current favorites are "my lighthouse", "uptown funk", and "shell shocked' (the ninja turtle song).

I'm sure there is more way more I could write but overall he just keeps me on my toes. Without him in this current stage I really think this parenting gig would be a peace of cake. But instead he keeps me hopping and young (or maybe the gray hairs are only from him).

Love you to pieces Sage Man. Never a dull moment with you. My entertainer.
