One day I thought...why not.



Yep. You guessed it. Collect all of the thousand pillows we have laying around this house and couch cushions and just jump off the couches onto them.



It was fun and we had some good laughs. As well as it killed a good hour of idle afternoon.


And isn't that what winter is all about.

Valentines Day

Daddy is in charge of Valentines Day!

We spent the day just enjoying our favorite people.

We also made and delivered some valentines around our hood and to our bible study buddies.

A lost tooth

It doesn't seem possible but we have entered a new world.

Out with the baby teeth. That just means my baby isn't quite a baby anymore.



Shadd was complaining his teeth hurt. At first I ignored the complaint. Not sure what the deal was. Second time I had a closer look. Yep. A couple loose teeth front and center of the bottom row. With some wiggling and a tug from Dad (thank goodness) he lost the first one.



He was super excited. Even took the tooth in a baggie to show off to his grandparents and the class at church. Then the infamous tooth fairy brought him a dollar that night. Lucky duck.

Then we were eating lunch today and he says I think this is a tooth as he holds up the second. It came out with a bite of strawberry. So I guess the tooth fairy will visit again tonite. Two nights in a row.

Big stuff for Shadd and new adventures for mom and dad.

He's growing up. Just hard to believe.

Trying to beat those winter blues

Brr....

Each morning we wake up and wonder if today will be the day. The day we get to finally venture outside and play. But each morning it is as freezing as the day before. I mean have we ever had this many sub zero or in the single digit days.

We just need a break. We've literally tried everything. The pot of boiling water is a trick that if allowed they would want me to do each and every day. We attempted trying to freeze bubbles but to no avail. We even heated the bubble solution. So most days we resort to crafts. It gets messy and I kinda go nuts and Sage is really a nightmare but still we give them a try.



We also brought a little snow inside. Sage ate most of his but the other two had fun, coloring it and sculpting it.



We are also in love with the Olympics. We have made a few crafts, colored some coloring pages, watched youtube videos and tried to stay up to date on the latest during the evening in between all the great basketball games on.


We also made some yummy valentine cookies with Frama and Aunt Kelsey. The frosting part was of course the best.

Currently Shadd is in love with mazes....we ordered a few books. He's awesome and he has a pile from the printer that he chips away. He loves a good puzzle I guess.

Thankful Thursday

I have been so bad at these lately and they are one of my favorite things to read in our now printed blog book. If only I know could bite the bullet and print the previous two years. Hard to believe I have been blogging that long.

Crazy.

Anywhoo...

1. playtimes with friends
2. snowdays - because that means we have an excuse to stay inside and get to play with friends who are in school
3. insanity - its getting hard and harder - today i had to stop three times to go to the bathroom, might be too much jumping but the sweat is oh so worth it and my eating habits well they are terrible currently.
4. shadd's sweet tender heart toward others and why they act the way they do - "maybe they don't know Jesus...we should pray for them"
5. our attempt and playing telephone to work on listening skills - i think ells has a ways to go
6. the olympics
7. beautiful snow
8. warm home and fireplace
9. a girls night - much needed and such a fun time with friends of old
10. the beth moore book "feathers from my nest"- such a great reminder of the joys of parenting from someone looking back

i'm sure there are many more - but just so thankful I have Him to constantly go to...no matter the circumstance! He is always there! Thank you Lord!

Baby #4

We had our first doctor's appointment last Friday.

We got a sneak peak at the baby. 

I was 12 weeks and 1 day at the appointment and measuring a little bigger (surprise surprise) 

My due date is officially August 7th but praying this baby follows suit with big brother and big sis and not in the footsteps of BIG Sage (all 10lbs 9oz). 

Planning on doing a VBAC so I am really excited about that - however we will have to play it by ear as we get closer to the date because if this baby gets too big they can't induce me and we will have to schedule a c-section. I have wrapped my head around all the possibilities and to be honest I think I have experienced the whole gamut when it comes to childbirth. Nothing is predictable so we will just roll with the punches as they come our way. 

Till then we saw two hands, two feet, a body and head. Not much more on this ultrasound of course but he/she was an active little thing in there just jogging along. The ultrasound tech was impressed by the energy this one held. Heart rate was 167 so going strong. All was good and all my blood work looked great too. My platelet levels were even okay believe it or not. 

All in all - things look great! 
So relieved to hear the heart rate and see the little bean growing! Always amazes me.
