Mr. Sage turns a curious 2

Here is Sage telling us he is two - two pointer fingers together usually

I love birthday parties and secretly I think d does too. I love to get all our families together. Love seeing all the cousins playing together. And of course love decorating for one.

This year we had a curious george party for our littlest monkey.

It was a blast. Lots of monkeys, yellow and red, bananas coming out my ears and of course an excuse to buy more fresh flowers.

Then the guests arrived and we had a blast like always. Plus it was beautiful outside and we got to eat and play outside. Double bonus.

his yummy cake made by my ubber talented mother in law

Sage needed a little help blowing out candles. He seems to think spitting is how you get it done. We are just thankful he only had two and daddy was there to help.

Daddy dished up the banana splits

Then we played and opened gifts. If you know Sage at all you know he loves attention, crowds and is quite the ham. Well he put on quite the show.  He loved and appreciated all his gifts and tried things on and has been pretty attached to everything he got.

He usually has quite the helpers.

Plus the crowd keeps growing with more and more babies each year.

He also go the most special card from his biggest cousin H. She is such an incredible artist.

Big wins for the Cyclones and San Antonio

We are big ISU fans in this house. Daddy was gone all weekend at the Big 12 tourney and we were home watching ... hoping we would be the champs. And we are! Whoop Whoop!

Or as D would chant with the kiddos..."Cyclone" and they will answer (even Sage) "Power". Just a taste of what I have to look forward to as we are going to San Antonio for a little getaway pre-baby and spring and to cheer on our cyclones in the NCAA tourney.

Our kiddos are pumped as well we will be gone and the grandmas and papas are coming to stay. Hello freedom! I kinda can't wait till I'm a grandparent and can return those favors.

Anyways...cheer on those clones!

Previously typed and never posted. Bummer. And again never posted and kept adding to it!

Anyways...funny story and i have no video to prove it but grandma darcy and papa greg and daddy can  vouge for me on this one.

The other night d was chanting cyclone power in a bucket as a mock megaphone. so d starts up the chant a few nights later with sage. sage looks around and then starts yelling "bucket"...not understanding i get him a bucket and he puts his head into it and yells "cyclone" and then "power" with prompting. we all got a nice laugh on that one. that little guy remembers everything!

...

Now San Antonio

We went to the NCAA tourney with our friends. We had a blast. We stayed on the riverwalk, enjoyed enormous breakfasts daily, the alamo, our fair share of basketball (4 games one day - to a prego lady thats a ton of sitting) and of course some shopping and golf.

It was beautiful a few days and a little overcast and cloudy on a few. But we did manage to get fried in a couple hours of Houston sun preflight home.

Plus we had a couple of big wins by the Cyclones and they are in the sweet 16 which is awesome!

our ikea stop - we had a small forest of fake plants in our carry ons and extra luggage to bout

golfing at the shell houston open - where the pga plays next weekend
getting some ice cream - whoops maybe a little too much

Drum Roll Please...

We had our ultrasound first thing last wednesday morning. Right after coming home late the previous night from our trip to watch the cyclones in action down south.

Needless to say the kiddos were excited to see us and us them. So we thought it would be fun to all go to the ultrasound together.

The wait was a bit long and the hype not exactly what they bargained for....

in fact they were so into whatever they were watching on my phone that they missed the announcement.

Yep. D won. We have never found out early with any of our other three but he said lets change things up a bit and find out. So we did.

Any guesses?

Well you have a 50/50 chance right?

A BOY!

Yes. Ells will have to learn to hold her own and if you know her it won't be too tough. One day we will have a house full of milk drinking, food consuming, football playing boys and one (as of right now) sweet girl.

Thankfully the little guy is growing and is doing great. I'm measuring more like 24 weeks rather than 22 weeks but they weren't concerned due to mr sage's size last time. Again we are praying this little guy decides to come early and on his own so mama can do a vbac but only time will tell. Other than that and eating a little too much on vacation we are all doing great!

Thankful Thursday: Sager Edition

well today is sager's official second birthday. while i will try my best to get a letter written to him soon via blog land i just can't commit my brain to it tonight. long day with extra kiddos and still trying to catch up from being gone a week plus try and get ready for a birthday party on saturday. ugh. why oh why do we squeeze so much in. and isu plays again tomorrow night. oh dear!

oh well...

so my thankfuls - with most of the centered on Sage man

1. he is healthy and strong
2. he is a baby lover - good thing as he can snuggle up this new little one (oh yeah big announcement I will try and squeeze in this week too - we found out what we are having this time. d won.)
3. he is our silly one always wearing crazy outfits, headbands, jewelry, heels, hats, you name it. he is the crazy one who makes us all laugh
4. he is the best tisser - loves to give his momma snuggles and tisses
5. he hates to be in trouble and just sits with his hands covering his eyes in timeout
6. he has the sweetest dimples - just like his daddy
7. he melts my heart (maybe because he looks and acts so much like his daddy)
8. he loves his brother and sister - adores them and wants to be just like them

Overall I'm just thankful I get to be his mommy. He is officially two so we are entering the world of tantrums and pouting but in between I get to snuggle him up, give him tisses, and hold him close because soon he will be too big to let me do any of those things.

Happy Birthday Sage

2 years old

I can't even believe it.

Ells and Shaddy blew up balloons to fill your bed this morning after you woke up. They were super pumped to do it and even woke mommy and daddy up way too early.

Then daddy made you yummy pancakes and we sang happy birthday and of course taught you to say that you are "two". You hold up two one fingers on both hands which is funny.

We watched B and Q today and it rained like crazy. You played and dressed up crazy.

We opened one gift tonite and your siblings are getting you gifts tomorrow (whoops - kinda forgot to get them early).  You loved the puppets now if only mommy had gotten your theatre sewn for you. soon. soon I promise.

Then daddy made blizzards and you had your favorite - ice cream!

Happy Birthday big boy!

only the third

The things my third does only make me cringe to think about the things number four will do.

the innovative way to help sage out of his crib. oh dear!
