A wet getaway
thanks to the prompting of friends...we decided to sneak away.
we thought it would be fun if my parents tagged along and thankfully no baby yet for my sis at the time so they could.
we splashed, ate, splashed and ate.
it was quick but a ton of fun.
even sage got to go down the slides - he just kept saying "slide", "fun"
the water felt so good. too bad the lake was frozen. we might have to venture up again this summer so we can enjoy the outdoor water park as well.

Thankful Wednesday (a day early)
its been way too long again.
this weather has me down with a cold but i feel like i'm on the up side at least no sinus headache without any tylenol thats a plus
however i have the itch for spring and spring projects. i think i could craft a day or three away with the projects swirling around in my head. yet i just sit as its too cold to spray paint, too cold to paint (although I thought about painting ells dresser in her bedroom this morning - d would have killed me) and too cold and too many kiddos to run to hobby lobby at least and keep my sanity.
till then we just have to embrace today and what we are able to accomplish
gratitude definitely is an attitude. a way of looking at life half full rather than half empty. all to easily especially cooped up inside we slip into the winter doldrums and ungratefulness.
i heard a lady on the radio yesterday said we should be thankful we get to wear more accesseries in the cold rather than the hot temps. true that. i know each september i crave jeans again and hooded sweatshirts. right now i will wear my new flats and starve for spring when the snow sneaks onto my bare feet and still praise you Lord for all things!

2. quick delivery for kels
3. shadd's itch to go golfing - he is sporting an isu polo today in hopes it will soon be time
4. quiet afternoons spent with my oldest
5. my elliptical
6. how 30 degrees feels like 60 lately

8. my hubs - really carrying the load the last couple of days morning and night
9. silly and cute childrens books - the day the crayons quit
10. a good check-up for the baby (a few weeks ago i guess)
11. technology that keeps us up to date with our friends so far away

Cousin Time
Every other thursday I get to watch Cousin B and Q for the day! Mine love their cousins more than anything and it is a blast to see them play and love on one another. Plus I get some snuggle time with Qman although he is getting pretty independent.

Silly sayings
That show, Kids say the Darndest Things, is right on the money. I could keep a book of quotes these little guys come up with.
In this picture - they found some Easter eggs and grass. They thought it would be a blast to hide them all over the living room. But first...Shadd "What should we do with this lettuce?"
Then Ellsyn requested an "alligator" on the way in the house from the garage. I was confused and she was getting upset with me so I just asked her to show me what she meant and she quickly went to the garage fridge and picked up a gatorade. Close to gatorade I guess.
Again they just crack me up. Lately the saying has been "Holy Jalapenos". I think it has something to do with D's new found love of eating jalapenos on just about everything and even getting Sage to give one a try. He didn't care to much for it and now just says, Jalapeno and Hot as if thats the only corresponding word that would ever fit. Oh dear.

Game Time
We are finally to the stage where Shadd loves and plays games constantly.
We spend at least a portion of each nap time playing battleship, trouble, crazy eights, connect four, checkers, etc.
And he is getting good and explaining and teaching games to Ells too.

I mean he is one aggressive tea drinker. Notice the chips in the tea set and we no longer have a tea pot as he broke it one day. Good thing dad got ells a replacement tin tea set for valentines day.
